I am grateful for relatives. The opportunity they provide to cultivate meaningful relationships. The connection and cohesiveness they provide to extended family.

I am grateful for the time spent with relatives. The comfort and joy found in the presence of people I have known all my life. I recently reconnected with two of my mother's cousins - my first cousins once removed. We walk, laugh, share family stories and discuss politics and social justice.

It takes time and effort to cultivate relationships with relatives but the rewards are many.
